The Yugoslav Wars were a series of ethnic conflicts between Yugoslavia, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Kosovo, and Macedonia as the former SFR Yugoslavia broke up. The war, on top of causing mass devastation, also caused an enormous refugee crisis, something that caused a significant amount of hostility amongst EU member states.
