North-West Resistance/Rebellion (26 mar 1885 ano – 3 jun 1885 ano)
Descrição:
The North-West Rebellion of 1885, also known as the North-West Resistance, was a rebellion led by Louis Riel and included First Nations Cree and Assiniboine from the District of Saskatchewan against the Canadian government. Following an influx of European settlers and a fall in bison—a significant food source for the Métis and indigenous peoples in west-central Canada—the North-West Rebellion was sparked by mounting worry and uncertainty among the Métis about their land rights and survival. In the North-West Resistance of 1885, they launched a second, more violent, and deadly attempt to proclaim their nationality under Riel.
