Descrição:

Cause - Travancore purchased Jalkottal and Cannanore from the Dutch in the Cochin state but Cochin was a feudatory of Tipu Sultan so he considered it an act of war

- Before the war, Tipu declared war on Tranvancore for the restoration of his rights
- Tipu defeated the armies of Travancore and the British( General Meadows) but later Cornwallis's large army led to the defeat of Tipu Sultan

- The Treaty of Seringapatam
was signed ---> nearly half of the territory under the Mysore kingdom and distributed among Marathas(regions surrounding Tungabhadra), Nizams(from Krishna to Periyar), and British(Brahamahal, Dundigul, and Malabar Coast)
- War indemnity of 2 cr --> half taken right away, half in installments
- 2 of Tipu Sons were taken as hostages by British
