War weariness, bread riots and supposed political meddling lead to strikes and eventually, a provisional government, the Duma, forced Nicholas II to abdicate but the Duma was still interested in staying the war.

A weakened government lead German military leaders to ship Vladimir Lenin to Russia, hoping to cause disorder. Once, their Lenin grew his influence and by July 16th, soviets killed the Royal Russian Family. By November, 1917, Lenin's Bolsheviks seize the Winter Palace and established a communist state.
