Hurricane Katrina was one of the deadliest hurricanes to hit the north American continent. killing almost 2,000 people and causing massive damage in the august of 2005. Hurricane Katrina originated in the Bahamas, but made its way through southern Florida, and eventually to Louisiana and north from there until it eventually stopped. New Orleans was significantly damaged from the hurricane and its population has still not recovered.
