The first report of HIV popping up was in the Congo. It originated in Africa but then spread to the United States and the rest of the world. The disease is transmitted through being in contact with bodily fluids, most notably transmitted through sexual contact with an infected person. HIV attacks your body's natural line of defense against other diseases making you more susceptible to other diseases.
