Imperialism is defined as a strong nation seeking out and taking over a weaker nation for financial or economic gain, and although imperialism was revamped in the 18th and 19th centuries, it was very prevalent before that time as well. Some examples of it were when Spanish conquered some of South America or when Britain conquered some of North America.
