In 1967 Congress ratified the 25th Amendment, allowing the President, with governmental approval, to name a vice-president should the office be voided. Giving the president even more power, though still limited by the House, Senate, and Congress. Gerald Ford would be the first and only VP elected under the provisions of the 25th Amendment
