The Korean War was a war between North and South Korea. The Korean War began when North Korea crossed the 38th parallel and invaded South Korea. The war divided North Korea and the communist party and South Korea that was not communist. This war did not have a victor and it resulted in many casualties for both parties. This war impacted the Cold War because the Soviets and the United States were supporting different sides and it increased tension between them. The Soviet Union supported North Korea and communism and the United States supported South Korea and Capitalism.
