Descrição:

He oversaw a series of maritime voyages appointed and sponsored by Yongle, in order to establish the Chinese as a force in the Indian Ocean basin, with the hopes of grand financial growth. To do this Zheng He traveled all around the sea, dealt with pirates and meddled in local conflicts, and demonstrated the might of the Chinese to foreigners.
