Loyalist Migration (3 h 21 m, 2 jan 1783 ano – 7 h 2 m, 19 maio 1784 ano)

Descrição:

Loyalists were the American colonists who remained loyal to the British crown during the American Revolution. They were also called King's Men, Tories, or Royalists. They were the opponents of the Patriots and they chose to remain loyal because they felt that it would be better for the colonies if they remained under the laws of the British Parliament. During the war, life for the Loyalists became very difficult. Those who lived in area's that were controlled by the Patriots always lived in constant fear. Many of the Loyalists lost their businesses and homes. A lot of the Loyalists moved to Britain during the war. Some decided to stay and help the British fight the Patriots. They would either join a British Army or create their own groups of fighter.

After the war, many of the Loyalists moved to England. Sometimes, the British Government paid for their loyalty, but it was not nearly as much as they Loyalists had lost. The U.S Government wanted the Loyalists to stay as they felt their new country could use some educated and skilled people, but very few of the Loyalists stayed. This was all known as the Loyalist Migration.
