Zheng did command the third voyage. He was accompanied by 48 large ships and about 30,000 troops. This voyage was quite similar to the first one, Zheng He visited most of the same places on the first voyage, with the exception of travelling to Malacca on the Malay Peninsula and Ceylon (Sri Lanka). When fighting broke out Zheng He’s forces and the those of a small kingdom, he put down the fighting and captured the king. Zheng brought the king back to China where he was released by the emperor, returning home impressed. *Route is on photo below.*
