Zhu Di promotes Zheng He to Admiral, which was a sign of his immense trust in him. Zheng He’s fleet was organized for his first expedition, which was at least 28,000 men strong, The fleet stopped at Champa (Central Vietnam) and Siam (today’s Thailand). Then it went on to an island of Indonesia, Java. After that it went to points along the Straits of Malacca. Following that, the fleet went to its main destination, Cochin and the Kingdom of Calicut on the southwestern coast of India.
