Murray book P. 146: I had once lived with a woman whose name I'd respectfully withhold anonymously at this time. For several years, we lived together, back and forth between California and Arizona before finally settling in Las Vegas. We brought into this world two adoring beautiful bundle of Joy, my daughters Chanel and Courtney. During our relationship I helped to support her through higher education. She successfully went on to earn her B.Sc. degree at San Diego State University in California. She however, through the years reciprocated the good will gestures by her domestic support of me throughout most of my internship, residency and my cardiology fellowships. Our relationship had first bloomed due to the absenteeism of my wife. After my marriage to Blanche, she excused herself by declaring her fear of earthquakes in California, so she was not moving there. Another caveat to her credit during that time, she was in her medical residency training on the other side of the continent, and did not want to pull up stakes only to restart elsewhere thereby falling behind by at least a year. I was distressed, because had I known that she would not follow me shortly thereafter, I would not have gotten married. Things also became rather complex, because within the two years that elapsed while living apart, my new companion moved in with me and became pregnant. I wasn't going to walk out on my child at that point, even though my wife was then ready to come home. I tried to work it out with the mother of my expected child. But through those years it became more and more difficult for us to live peacefully together, there were too many squabbles. I realized it was not the way to live happily ever after. I would not marry her, because of widening disparities, which were not reconcilable. Upon our amicable separation I voluntarily bought her a newly constructed, never lived in home, in a lovely enclave, in a gated community. I titled the property in her name, so that if any thing happened to me prematurely I did not want family members filing claims and putting my children on the street. It cost me a sizable sum for the property and also to furnished it to her liking. I also supported any later furnishing changes she needed. I maintained hers as well as the children standard of living to not a single degree less than mine. She also had several branded new vehicles over the years, new BMW sedans, 325, and 535 series and a convertible BMW Z4. In addition, a four figure income that covered her monthly expenses. She did not work, but remained a homemaker to take care of the children. Both girls attended private schools for a combined $30,000.00 per year. During the ordeal, which capsized my entire empire, my support fell behind and it was that same woman who dragged me to court to demand child support. At the beginning of my debacle she was by then married to a family practice physician. A friend of hers had said to me that her husband nudged her to take action against me since he thought he would be caught with the support of his stepdaughters. She had me ordered to family court in Las Vegas in the middle of the melee, when I was receiving death threats. The scene at the courthouse was chaos, with hundreds of media outlets there. It was my first open exposure to the raucous crowds since the events of June 25th 2009. In court, during one of the sessions, she asked the judge to throw me in jail. The judge said “Nobody is going any way today.” When we did come to a settlement, the judge also said that what I had done for my children and their mother in this case was considered as going beyond what was expected of me. She nevertheless continued digging for more, despite her brash approach to settle our differences, nothing she has done lessens my generosity and my loyalty to do my best for my children. We all have characteristics that define who we are as men and women, for me the traits that bind me in general are my selflessness and altruism. I want to serve all others, regardless of race, color, creed, adversity or socio-economic challenges.
