After Joseph Stalin succeeded Lenin, he helped improve the economy of the Russia and the conditions of the state. Though during his reign, there were big famines that ravaged the country, terror attacks, bogus trials, and assassinations, and much more. The Great Purge of 1936-1938 saw the collective government of the USSR take out their enemies. Plus, historians aren’t sure how many people lost their lives during this time, making him rule one of the deadliest in history.
