After getting orders from Sam Houston to bring all armies to the town of Victoria, James Fannin leisurely leads his troops northeastward but didn’t make it too far before he was stopped by General Urrea’s forces. Fannin had his troops form a defensive square of troops and held their ground overnight before surrendering.
