General Lee wanted to invade Pennsylvania but was unsuccessful and they ended up losing. His strategy was to deal damage to the North and weaken them so the south could keep on attacking. Instead of giving the South an advantage, it actually gave them a disadvantage because they were losing soldiers, resources and firearms.
