The Age of Jackson encompasses all of President Andrew Jackson's presidency. During this time the voting restriction on owning land was lifted and all white men could vote. This was also a time when new political parties formed, the democrats and the whigs. This was historically significant BECAUSE at this time more Americans began to participate in politics and vote.
