In North East Mesopotamia, Adad-nirari II took control of his small nation of Assyria. A land named after a son of Shem, and a former Kingdom of Ancient Akkad. The Assyrians had boasted a couple of small empires since Akkad, occupying a land that boarded the Hittites and Canaanites, but starting with the campaigns of Adad-nirari in 911 BCE, the Assyrians subjugated people surrounding them, including the Aramaic tribes, Iranians, and even Babylonia.
