Donatello’s full name was Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi. He was born in Florence, Italy, in 1386. He was a master of marble and bronze work. In his early work, he was a leader of International Gothic, this was a style of work that had graceful and softly curved lines that were strongly influenced by northern European art.
