On September 11th 2001, Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four planes and crashed them into the twin towers and the pentagon. This caused great outrage among the american people. On September 20th President George W. Bush gave a speech announcing the "Bush doctrine" in which he declared that the United States would be at war with Terrorists, and anyone who supported them. On October 7th the United States launched its first air strike against Afghanistan that was ruled by the terrorist group the Taliban at the time. The Taliban were driven out and replaced with a new Afghanistan government. In 2002, President Bush expanded the war to Iraq, North Korea, and Iran.
