Operation Torch was the Anglo-American Invasion of Axis controlled Northern Africa, and it purposes were to relieve stress on The Soviet Union and to help British troops fighting Italian Libya. It lasted from November 8th to November 16th and was conducted by General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
