The Titanic crashing is a significant event because it was a part of the industrial revolution and brought a lot of change to the way large vessels were built and the standards they were built to. The Titanic has also brought a change to the safety of large ships. Since it was known as the 'unsinkable ship' it had nowhere near enough life jackets or lifeboats for everyone on board which resulted in many of the passengers and crew on board drowning. Now large vessels almost always have more than enough life jackets and lifeboats to go around and safety procedures are put in place in the event of an emergency. All of this happened due to the Titanic sinking, which although it was very sad, has brought much-needed change to the safety of boats around the world. ,
