The cause of the war was primarily because of a dispute over possession of the Ohio River Valley between England and France. Both sides wanted to expand their settlements into the region by the river. Though the bigger issue was North American continent control. The North American French and Indian Conflict. This enabled a great expansion in the "new world" of British territory. Nevertheless, this greatly expanded the debt of Britain. There was also great dissatisfaction among English leaders with regard to colonists.
