This was the hardest time for Fitzgerald during his life. Scott was ill, drunk, in debt, lost his wife's sanity, and could no longer produce commercial stories and lived from hotel to hotel. Losing the ability to live with his daughter, was sent away to boarding school and was taken care of by another family.
