The Enlightenment also know as the the age of reason, was the period of reflecting and looking at the world a new way. Reason and science were started to rise and being discussed a lot.

Enlightenment's ideas contained a positive future belief and a belief that man was good and sensible by nature. A new idea now was that man could be described as a product of his environment - if society can change then man can also change.

Science was in focus and in one country after another scientific academies were set up. It was the era of good and rational worship. Everything would be utilized effectively. The inventor and scientist were the men of the new age. It was during this time that the industrial revolution took off in Britain.
