With colour television becoming a household staple animated cartoons were regularised. In order to do so limited animation was done in order to save on money and time (Sanders, 2019).

In 1980 American President Ronald Regan released a bill that television shows may be allowed to be based off toy lines (along as they had an ‘education’ element). With using the bare medium of ‘education content’’ spans of television shows becoming more of advertisements reigned.
