The Japanese invade China. By 1938 much of China was occupied by the Japanese. Refugees fleeing boosted HK population to to 1.5 mil. 1941 Dec US is at war with Japan. Japan attacks HK. British surrendered. HK is under Japan rule for 3 years and 8 months. HK currency went down. A lot of things were sent to Japan. The Japanese surrendered on 1945 August. HK had only around 600,000 population wise.
