Descrição:
 Corded Ware Culture: 2800-2500 BC
- Mainly known from graves
Graves:
- Individual in crouched position on his/her side
- characteristic artifacts are: a stone battle axe; a flint knife; and a ceramic vessel with decoration that looks somewhat like cords and a protruded foot.
- The grave is marked with a round burial mound.

Corded Ware Culture 
 (direct predecessors yamnaya) 
 - 2800-2500 BC 
 - Only known from burials  
- Highly similar burials, which occur in a vast   area - from Poland to the Netherlands 
 - Emerged from the same steppe as the   Yamnaya migrants (genetically the same) 
 - Corded Ware Culture emerged from Yamnaya 
steppe migrants 
- mostly male  
Characteristic graves Corded Ware 
 - Individual deceased, placed on his/her side,   in crouched position   
 - No more collective graves 
 - Deceased is buried underneath round burial mound (sometimes placed in long rows) 
Characteristic   grave   gifts :
 - Decorated beaker (‘corded’ with protruded foot) 
 - Stone ‘battle axe’ 
 - Flint axe 
 - Flint dagger
