The French and Indian War was fought between Great Britain, the French and their Native American allies. The war started when the expansion of both empires collided, in the Ohio River Valley (North America). Both, the French and the British, wanted to control the Ohio River Valley, since it was an excellent trading point. The War officially started with a series of battles in the Ohio River Valley. In the first part of the war, most victories were French, and in the end the British were victorious. The war ended officially with the Treaty of Paris of 1763. The British gained all the territory west from the Mississippi River, except for New Orleans. The Native Americans in the new land the British had conquered were mad and angry at them, so they started to rebel against them.
