Origins of Film Music: The first-ever film with music synchronized with each frame was called "Entr'acte" by the composer Gymnopédies, Erik Satie.
Freelancers: Composers started to transition from being employed to becoming freelancrs.
Pop, Jazz, and Westerns: Jazz composers came around such as Maurice Jarre, who wrote the score of "Lawrence of Arabia", it focuses on exotic Middle Eastern scales. Maurice Jarre has influence later fims such as the Jerry Goldsmith's score for 1999's The Mummy.
Synths and John Williams: During this time here was a New Hollywood era, where film music started to head in two concurrent, divergent directions with synthesizers and classi scores started to return in popularity.
Audion Tube: The first ever electronic device that could amplify a small signal.
'Video Killed The Radio Star': This is the first music video to have aired on MTV. MTV Is the first music channel created that enabled music videos to play in the music industry.
Hip Hop: This is the year when hip hop music started to gain popularity.

Silent films: Roundhay Garden Scene is over 2 seconds long and it's believed to be the world's earliest surviving motion-picture film. Although the Amerian film industry has switched to sound films, the silent films were still being produced; however at a heavily reduced rate.
The Golden Age: Now composers who came up with films in its age always had backgrounds in concert music, and exclusively write orchestral pieces. One of the most influential composers from that time was Max Steiner. He was regarded as "The Father of Film Music".
Revolution of Film Music: Synthesized sound in film music has revolutionized the film music industry. It is easier to bring rock into the industry without using any second performer. This also enabled popular songs such as contemporary rock to become the basis for entire scores. Nowadays with the new technological advances, music is capable of giving an accent to a movie's plot and characters.
Musicals: During this time period, musicals were slowly considered as a film genre.
Politics: During this time period, there were many inspirations for diverse styles of music that developed. Due to our advanced technology, composers were able to record classical music and jazz easier. Music during this time period has changed dramatically due to hostile political matters, advances in technology and the fast pacing musical styles.
