Cave Paintings in Lascaux It is believed that paintings found in Lascaux, France (discovered in 1930's) but were closed off 10 years later due to condensation breathed by tourists. The paintings expressed how the animals felt and representations of their hands.
In Ancient Egypt, the Totalitarian government influenced the art by creating more of a realistic art style shown in the Atken period. Hieroglyphics also influenced the time period, depicting the first known language from the Rosetta stone.
In ancient Greece the human body was considered the center of art and displayed on clay vases. Achilles and Hercules are prime examples of these.
Rome was founded by Romulus and Remus and they are depicted by a famous statue depicting the two boys feeding from a she-wolf.
In Greece, the Colosseum was built by Euphasian to win over the people as an entertainment center over a lake.
The Pantheon was built for Marcus McGriffin, a famous aristocrat, but on closer inspection the bricks stated the name of the emperor, Hadrian.
Early Christianity began with Constantinople and was famous for its symbols used for communication such as the fish.
The Gothic style made its way through Europe with cathedrals with artists being more involved with architecture dealing with stained glass and flying buttresses more that sculpture and painitings.
Leonardo de Vinci painted the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper in 1st perspective in a style called Fresco where you lay down plaster then paint.
Pablo Picasso paints "Guernica" depicting the wrong done by the Germans in France and is not recognized for being a masterpiece and is called a "brainstorm" in cubist form.
