1900 - The inintroduced Forest railways and railways in general for transport, changed the way logging companies operated, could now produce on a mass level. As a result US timber production increased by 30%
1777 - The invention of the sawmill however The circular saw was most commonly used in the Nineteenth Century
1834 - bandsaw was invented however, the bandsaw did not attain its prominence in wood-working machinery until the last quarter of the Nineteenth Century.
1889 - Invention of the electric drill, A major advancement in hand held power tools, the electric drill is now found in tool belts and workshops all around the world.
1760 - The Industrial Revolution, Starting in 1760 and ending in 1830 was one of, if not, the biggest influence on Industry. The timber industry thrived with key inventions such as the Steam Engine, Internal Combustion Engine, airplane and the telephone. These inventions significantly impacted the timber industry, changing the way timber was manufactured, bought, sold and transported globally.
