Intel releases the first Dynamic RAM chip, Intel 1103, and was faster than previous chips and was more commercially availible.
Synchronous DRAM is introduced. It contains clock speeds that the user can control.
Double Data Rate SDRAM, DDR, is released. Its speeds are almost double of that of previous generations.
DDR2 is introduced. Is faster and has larger capacities than DDR1.
DDR3 arrives to stores. It is faster than DDR2, and boasts larger bandwidths as well.
Double Data Rate 4 RAM is released. It is much quicker than the previous generation and contains larger capacities.
