Birth of Frederick Douglass in Talbot County, Maryland as a Slave. it is believed, that the Father from Frederick is white and the Owner of him, Aaron AnthonyWhen he was round about 10, his Mother, Harriet Baley, dies. Hugh Auld was the brother of Colonel Anthony’ son-in-law, Thomas Auld. Douglass was determined to learn to read and write.
