Ruby was depressed. She had to leave her family and move to L.A when her mother died. She has to go live with a man supposed to be her father but has never met him in her life.Ruby is landing in L.A. She headed into the airport. To see her father and flashes of lights. "Ruby, Ruby over here" voices scream at her.Ruby meets her scumbag of a father, in her big empty space of a mansion. It was her dream room, her dream house. She loved it, but hated the reason she was in it!Ruby is starting to get homesick, she also starts school with Cameron Dallas in a week. She ask her Aunt Duffy, her boyfriend Ray, and her best friend Lizzy for advice. They don't give that much good advice!Ruby starts school and doesn't want to be noticed as Whip Logan's daughter. But of course being an embarrassing parent and yells after her. She turns red when everyone stares at her.Her Aunt Duffy calls and tells Ruby shes going to be out of contact for up to 6 months. Shes going on a trip with her new boyfriend. Ruby lost someone who gives her the best advice!She meets one of her dads "assistants" who turns out to be gay and Ruby's best friend. Ruby tries to figure out if Max has a boyfriend or not. She starts to come closer, and closer to him.She crosses the street as she used to do back home, and then she sees blue flashing lights. She gets a major fine, and she late to class. Will her dad be upset with her?Ruby gets snatched away by her father every weekend. But this weekend its diffrent. Instead of her father being self centerd, he ask her where she wants to go. They end up having a amazing time and bonding,.Ruby figures out that her bestfriend Lizzy and her long distance boyfriend was cheating on her. She was very upset and pushed all of her new found "friends" away. She pushed her dad away when she needed him the most.A classmate of hers dies. She and her father become closer. She relaizes life for her isnt that bad.in the last chapter, Ruby figures out why his father left his mother. She found light in the darkness, she and Lizzy are trying to be friends again. To end it off, Ruby finds out that Max is dating a man named Whip Logan.
