create moist wetland.This date was the begging
of a 48 inch rain season in IowaSouth Dakota received 7.5
inches in a three hour period.Streams began having run off due
to the intense rainfall and saturated soil.Several levees across
the Midwest were faulty
and caused the river to floodIn Des Moines, Iowa, a water
treatment facility was flooded
by the Raccoon River, a lead
off of the Mississippi, causing
the plant to hault work.Another levee collapsed
near Colombia, Illinois.The river was finally retreating
to normal water levels
