French and Indian War ends with the Treaty of Paris. 1763
The passage of the Sugar Act. April 5th 1764
The Stamp Act. March 22nd, 1765 The Stamp Act required all colonists to pay for a stamp for each piece of printed paper. This included playing cards, newspapers, posters, and letters to other people.
Parliament passed the Declaratory Act. 1766
Parliament passed the Townshend Acts. 1767 The Townshend Acts were a collection of taxes imposed on the colonists. These acts included taxes on things like tea, glass, paint, and lead. These acts helped fuel the colonists to take action and rebel against the king.
Parliament repeals Townshend Acts. March 1st 1770
Boston Massacre. March 5th, 1770 The Boston Massacre occurred, shortly after the Townshend Acts. There was a group of british soldeirs who shot and killed multiple colonists.
Parliament passes Tea Act. May 10th 1773 The tea act was an extra tax on colonists, for tea. This act required all colonists to pay extra for tea and was an important fuelling point for rebellios actions, and the tea party.
Boston Tea Party. December 16th, 1773 The Boston Tea Party was a rebellious act from the colonists in reaction to the extra taxes imposed upon them by Great Britain. The sons of liberty attacked ships carrying tea and in response, Great Britain gave harsher penalteis and taxes.
Intolerable Acts. 1774 The Intolerable Acts were harsher laws for the colonists, to punish them for the Boston Tea Party. These Acts included making the Boston colonists pay for the tea, and allowed the British Soldeirs to do whatever they wanted.

Battle of Saratoga. September 19th, 1777 The Battle of Saratoga was a major turning point in the war. When the Americans won the battle, it showed that we could have a chance of winning the war which leads to countries like France sending aid. This battle also helped renew the morale of the soldeirs and colonists.
Declaration of Independence signed. 1776 The Declaration of Independence was a document from the colonists to Britain, that told them that we were independent of them and we were our own country.
Battle of Bunker Hill. June 17 1775
Valley Forge. December 16th, 1777 Valley Forge was a camp, in which, a very bad winter threatened many peoples lives. During the winter of 1777 there were many deaths, yet the army was able to hold through due to there courage, and loyalty to there country and each other.
Battle of Yorktown. September 28th, 1781 The Battle of Yorktown was the last major land battle of the war. When American and French forces trapped the British army in Yorktown they surrendered and the war was unofficially ended.
