In 1917 NACA was formed to turn flying machines into war machines.
In 1940 black human computers were allowed to start work and NACA, soon to become NASA.
In 1941 A. Philip Randolph, pioneering civil rights activist, proposed a march on Washington, D.C., to draw attention to racial discrimination. President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 8802, preventing racial discrimination in hiring for federal and war-related work. This order cleared the way for the black computers to work at NASA.
NACA was dissolved in 1958 to make way for NASA, or National Aeronautics and Space Admistration.
In 1970 NASA dissolved human computers to make way for new technological advancements.
