At exactly 4:30 AM the allies and Canada rushed the Germans with 600 tanks and 2,000 aircraft. Some Germans immediately surrendered, while the Canadian forces captured German prisoners. The Allies and the Canadians largely outnumbered the Germans, and the German commander Erich Ludendorff said ”depressed down to Hell”. The Royal Air Force then laid smoke screens, which allowed the Canadians to pass without being seen. The Canadians then captured many important targets.
Harry Miner, a 27-year old farmer from Ontario, rushed three enemy posts, and attacked two of them himself, using an enemy machine gun. He then raided a enemy bombing post, before being killed by a German grenade. He was then awarded the Victoria Cross, the British Empire's highest award for military honour.
Lieutenant Jean Brilliant was a 28-year-old from Québec, who rushed ahead, and captured a German machine-gun post. He was wounded and led two platoons to capture more machine guns and 150 prisoners. He was then wounded again, and led a charge with his soldiers against a German machiene gun. He was then wounded again and died.
Henry Rawlinson, the Fourth Army commander combined 11 divisions of troops and tanks. It was filled with 500 tanks, and 1900 aircraft. This already numbered the German's defense, and Rawlinson achieved deception through wireless and fake messages.
At the end of the war, more than 19,000 allied soldiers died or were injured and 26,000 Germans died. The Canadian forces captured 5,033 Germans prisoners and 161 guns.

The allies and Canada wanted to keep the war a secret, so that the Germans would not know of the war. On August 9, 4:30 AM, the Allies and Canada rushed the Germans in hope of a end to end World War 1. The Allies were very successful, with about double the amount of troops, tanks and aircraft that the Germans had. At the end of the war, many people on both sides died. After Germany was defeated, this ended
The historical significance of the Battle of Amiens was very important. Although it was only 3 days total, it was one of the most important wars because the Battle of Amiens ended World War 1, stopping thousands of casualties and wars between countries. This was on a Global Negative The Canadians accomplished going through the foliage while the Germans were distracted by the Allies shooting at the Germans. The Canadians sneaked through the foliage and captured thousands of Germans, and along with the al
Allies. Harry Miner did a lot in the war, capturing a large amount of Germans and machine gun posts by himself. Also, Henry Rawlinson ordered all the troops by himself, and I think that the Candians had accomplished a lot in the war, and the Canadians also ended World War 1 which had a lot of casualties. A national monument should be placed here because this was the place where the last 100 days offensive took place, and ended the large war of World War 1. So, in the end, I think that a monument should
