Increased rate of residential development amounting in 1000 allotments.1958. Canals Act. Started forming first two genuine canal estates in Rio Vista and Miami Keys.1977. Pacific Fair was opened with 96 specialty stores and 2 department stores.1989. Bridge was built across Little Tallebudgera Creek to improve access
to the centre and provide a link between the Gold Coast Highway and Pacific Fair.2014. Florida Gardens was linked along the 13km light rail corridor

(section of Miami Keys) was built.1970's. Rialto was formed (west of Rio Vista).Early 1980's. Cypress Gardens, west along the Nerang River, was completed with larger blocks.
