The February Revolution begins, 90,000 men and women take to the streets of the Russian capital Petrograd.
The strike spread among the Petrogaurd workers and mobs of workers destroy police stations.
The Petrogaurd army were called during the uprising. In some cases the army were forced to open fire killing some of the rioters. But the protesters kept to the street and the soldiers switched there support to the protesters.
The Imperial government was forced to resign and Nicolas II abdicated the throne ending almost four years of czarist rule. Nicholas became the last tsar in history.
Nicholas II or Nikolay Aleksandrovich was born in Pushkin, Russia.
Nicholas was assassinated at Ipatiev House, Russia.
With very little governmental experience Nicholas succeeds his father Alexander III, and was crowned Tsar
