Descrição:
The Great Bible was the first "authorized version" sanctioned by King Henry VIII. Primarily the work of Miles Coverdale, it was intended for use in churches and was notable for its size and clarity. In 1560, the Geneva Bible was published, which was significant for being the first English Bible translation entirely from original languages and the first to include verse numbers. This translation was widely used by English Protestants and had a considerable influence on later translations.
