the second game in the series, of course.

according to what i've read from randos online (so take this with a grain of salt,) the original team behind this game decided to ramp up the culturally japanese aspects of the story in this one. apparently the first game wasn't doing as well as anticipated, and they didn't think that the series would make it out of japan, so they figured it wouldn't matter in the long run. they ended up being wrong, and since the translators of the first game already committed to americanizing the series, apparently kurain village is somewhere in northern california. go figure?

this game also features a significant increase in typos and awkward-sounding "scanslation." it's probably safe to say that the translation team wasn't being paid enough to care.
