After Thomson's experimentation with positively and negatively charged particles, he realized that the existing model for atoms did not include them. So he proposed a model, creating an example of plum pudding, The neagatively charged particles were likened to the raisins in the pudding, while the positevely charged particles were likened to bread dough.
