United States v. E. C. Knight Co., also known as the "Sugar Trust Case," was a 1895 Supreme Court case that significantly limited the government's power to control monopolies. Knight Company's control of 98% of the sugar refining industry as it was deemed manufacturing rather than trade or commerce.
