Johnny Depp's former lawyers attempt to collect $350k in unpaid legal fees by trying to file a lien against actor's $19M properties in California

Johnny Depp's former lawyers are attempting to collect their money from the troubled actor by seeking to file a lien against his property, according to court documents obtained exclusively by DailyMailTV.

The 56-year-old was hit with a lawsuit from Buckley LLP in May, alleging he had an outstanding bill of nearly $350,000 from retaining the powerhouse firm to represent him against his former lawyer Jake Bloom's entertainment law firm.

After successfully defending his case in August 2018, Buckley continued to work for Depp up until this January. The firm billed Depp for $535,697.28 but the actor only paid $187,717.39, leaving a remaining balance of $347,979.89.

Depp, who was once estimated to be worth $650 million, claimed Buckley lawyers were charging 'excessive and unreasonable' amounts, and asked for the case to be dropped.

Now, Buckley LLP has filed documents seeking for a lien to be taken out against Depp's California properties, which are worth a collective $19 million, in attempt to collect on the outstanding bill.
