The Bandung Conference is major turning point in terms of uniting countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East in attempt to come to a common ideology among the Third World nations to free themselves from Cold War dichotomies. 29 leaders came together and agreed upon ten principles although the cold war still continued. The conference eventually led to the Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) forming in 1961.
