The Battle of the Ascent of Lebonah, also known as the Battle with Apollonius, was the first clash between the Maccabees and the Seleucid Empire in 167 or 166 BCE. Led by Judas Maccabeus, the Jewish forces engaged the Seleucid army commanded by Apollonius, described as the "strategos (general) of the Samaritan forces" by Josephus.

Taking place in the early stages of the Maccabean Revolt, the exact location of the battle remains uncertain, but it likely occurred along a road between Samaria and Jerusalem. The Maccabees, utilizing guerrilla tactics, launched a surprise attack on the larger Seleucid army, resulting in their victory. Judas Maccabeus personally defeated Apollonius in combat. Subsequently, another Seleucid force was sent against the Maccabees, leading to the Battle of Beth Horon.
