Edward VI was a child king, and he was under the control of his Protestant uncles. He got rid of stained glass in churches and under his reign, the Book of Common Prayer was published, which made English worship more separate from the Roman Catholic Church. This was further established under Elizabeth's reign in 1559 with the Religious Settlement.
